The bleeding is different, and their intensity depends on the method of stopping the blood. On the face, fingers, hands paws there are no major veins and arteries, the failure of which could threaten the life of the animal, so to stop the bleeding will help ordinary bandage. If damaged large vessels, tight bandaging is not enough, you need to put dog harness (that does not negate bandaging the wound). In summer, a tourniquet can be applied for half an hour, in three and a half. This time should be enough to make it to the vet.

If the bleeding is insignificant, or you managed to stop yourself, proceed with further processing. Gently shave the hair around the injured place. It must be done in order that the hairs were not included in the open wound and caused infection and suppuration.

Wash the wound warm boiled water, especially if it has dirt, debris, earth, branches. Then the wound should be washed with hydrogen peroxide solution or a weak solution of potassium permanganate (potassium permanganate) pale pink.

Lubricate the wound with iodine or green paint. Please remember that to be processed needs only the skin around the wound, but did not itself damaged surface.

Useful advice
Remember that if you can't stop the bleeding, or it resumes, the dog must show veterinarian.
