By default, the scanner stores captured images in .jpg-, .bmp - or .tiff is a graphics format. With files of this type it is possible to work in graphic editor to change the resolution, contrast, brightness or to apply other visual effects. Cross-platform format .the pdf gives a few other possibilities for image processing, but in order to work with scanned document in text format, you must use either a separate function of scanneror a special app for OCR.

Explore the capabilities of your scanner. For many models more can utility to translate the scanned images to text, it comes complete with the device and is located on your installation CD. If text was exported to a file format .txt, save the document in the usual way, or copy its contents and paste into a document in another format, for example .doc (.docx). In that case, if you still see the text as a picture, select the step to "Recognize" and wait until process is finished. After that, click "Export" or copy the recognized text and paste it into the document in a convenient format.

The quality of the "translation" of text from the scanner depends on the resolution setting. The higher the resolution, the more accurate the copy will remove the scanner. When are you going to translate the drawing in the text, the best option would be medium resolution settings. If the resolution is too low, the copy will be not too clear, therefore, to recognize the text will be more difficult. If the resolution is too high, the extra noise will also complicate the work of translation of graphics into text.
