Vacuum clean the carpet. Ideally, it's better to do it twice.

Inspect the carpet for stains. If any, they urgently need to withdraw. Depending on the nature of stains (grease, ink and other) pick needed cleaning. You can also use a solution of vinegar or baking soda, ammonia solution (the only exception are the wool carpets), detergent and other stain removers.

Wash the carpet. To do this, the water softened ammonia, soak the carpet.

Then, using the brush, wipe it with a soda-soap solution, to which add the turpentine (30 grams of turpentine per litre of solution).

Rinse the sprayed solution first with warm and then with cold water, in which pre-dilute vinegar (15 ml in one bucket full of water).

Wiped cleaned the carpet first with a wet cloth, then dry.
Note
Some carpets, e.g. tufted, in any case can not be washed! Under the influence of water their secondary base, glued to a decorative part, exfoliate. Useful advice
There are several ways of washing. For example, using a tea infuser. Collect sleeps tea leaves, wrap it in a thick cheesecloth and squeeze the remaining water.
