How to find your iPhone

Unfortunately, we sometimes lose things. And the iPhone is, without a doubt, over time, becomes a thing not only necessary, but without which it is absolutely impossible to do. But if you use MobileMe, you can resort to the function "Find iPhone". This function is also available for free on all iPhones with operating system iOS 4.2.

If you lost your iPhone, you can use the "Find my iPhone"

IPhone with iOS 4.2 and above or the application MobileMe

Instruction

To setup Find my iPhone go to "Settings" and then "Mail, contacts, calendars". Click Add account and select MobileMe. If you have an Apple ID and password, enter them, if not, click "Create a free Apple ID" and follow the simple instructions on the screen. Now you need to confirm your account. Check your Inbox, there should be an email from Apple. Click on the link provided in the email and log in with your Apple ID. On the MobileMe screen, turn on Find my iPhone. Immediately a message will appear in which you can click "Allow" or "Cancel". Click "Allow".

After you have configured the function "Find my iPhone", you can easily find your iPhone in case of loss. First, you will be able to determine the location of your iPhone. To do this, simply log on to the website www.me.com or in the described way enable Find my iPhone on another device (iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch). You will see a map marked with the location of your iPhone.

But that's not all. If you touch your finger to the icon that indicates the location of your iPhone on the map, you will see a screen where you can choose further actions. Clicking on the "Send message", you'll get at the screen of your iPhone message. If looking at the map, you realize that the iPhone is near you, you can press the button "beep". Your iPhone will play a long and loud alarm sound, even if you set it to silent mode.

You can also use the service "Remote installation password. After you click on the button with the appropriate name, you will be prompted to enter a four-digit code. Thus you can remotely set a password to protect the data on your phone. In the worst case, when you believe that you will not be able to return your iPhone, you can click on "Remote wipe", and all of your personal information will be erased.

If Find my iPhone was configured on your iPhone before it is lost, then use it will fail. If your iPhone is stolen, file a report with the police and set the IMEI (15-digit unique number which have with any cell phone). By IMEI, the operator can determine the location of the iPhone, if law enforcement officials request. If you just lost your iPhone, then, unfortunately, neither the police nor the mobile operators it will not look.
