How to enable integrated video card

Integrated graphics are a special chip that processes and conveys the video signal. The use of these devices allows to save on the purchase of a full-fledged graphics card. Typically, such chips can be used in office PCs.

- Nvidia Control Panel;
- AMD Power Express.

Instruction

When working with a desktop computer generally use the BIOS menu to change the video card. Turn your PC on and press the desired key. Its name you can see in the starting boot menu.

Select Video menu Options or Advanced Settings. In submenu, find Video PCI (AGP). Set it to Disable. Note that sometimes, you must first enable the integrated chip.

Return to the main BIOS menu, repeatedly pressing the Esc key. Save the configuration. To do this, select Save&Exit. If this method did not help to activate the integrated video card, remove the discrete equipment.

Disconnect the computer from AC power and open the system unit. Disconnect the monitor cable from the discrete video card. Connect it to the output of the integrated chip. Remove the video card, pushing the locking latch. Turn on the computer and make sure that the monitor has the image.

In mobile computers often use two video card. To switch these devices, you must install additional applications. Update your video card drivers, using the resources available on the official manufacturers website of your laptop.

The choice of application depends entirely on the manufacturer of the CPU installed in your computer. Install the program Nvidia Control Panel or AMD Power Express.

Restart your laptop and open the installed app. In case of Nvidia, select your video adapter and go to "Activate." Wait for the change of the graphics device.

When working with AMD Power Express just click "Low energy consumption of the GPU." Change adapter, usually without restarting the laptop.
