Check with gas utility that serves your building, periodicity of obligatory verification of metering devices. Typically, the rotor revolution counters gas, it is held once in five years, for membrane analogues rarely – once every eight years.

Look at the date of the last calibration of the gas meter. It should be specified in the passport on metering device. Year and quarter, you can determine the stamp on the seal, using a magnifying glass. In that case, if the designated period expires, notify the gas company about the necessity of calibration of metering device. This is necessary so as to open the seal can only representatives of the competent authorities. If calibration is initiated by regional gas supply units, they must notify the subscriber in writing within a week.

After you have made application to the district branch of the city or has received a notification from the Agency, its staff should open the seal from the meter, remove the meter and make the act. The metering device is transferred to the user for verification. Procedure of verification and repair (if necessary) the subscriber pays for itself.

Grant deed issued by the metrological service carrying out the verification, in gas service. Within two days after submission of the document and its representatives shall install the gas meter in place and seal it. Services for dismantling and installation of devices of the account are held by the state, i.e. are provided to the subscribers free of charge.
Note
The duration of the state of calibration of metering devices in the metrological laboratories should not exceed one day. The period may be longer only if the gas meter needs to be repaired.
Useful advice
If the consumer has not received notification of gas service about the need for calibration of the gas meter, and its term has expired, you must immediately notify the district branch. Better to do it in writing and in two copies, one of which will be signed by the responsible officer who took the statement into consideration.
