If you are using a mercury thermometer, the temperature can be measured in two ways: in the rectum and in the axilla. The first is more accurate, but less pleasant. The second is better tolerated by the child, but takes more time. For measuring rectal temperature, lay the baby on his knee, enter him in the anus clean thermometer (no deeper than 1.5 cm). After 3-5 minutes vote results. The norm in this type of measurement is temperature to 37.5°C. To measure the temperature in the armpit, hold the child in half upright position in his lap. The thermometer should be placed inside skin folds. So he fell, holding his free hand. The measurement time is 5-7 minutes. Rainfall varies between 36.5-37°C.

If you are using an electronic thermometer, and carry out the procedure one of the ways described above. The only difference is the time of measurement. Generally, electronic thermometer shows the result after 1-3 minutes. After a measurement it beeps.

Thermometer-nipple is very convenient for measuring the temperature in the baby. Within 3-5 minutes you can get an accurate result without any inconvenience to the baby. Gently rinse the thermometer and give it to the child under the guise of a dummy. Norm is the value to 37.3°C. This measuring method is not suitable for those children who grow up without nipples.

Infrared forehead thermometer allows you to assess the condition of the baby within seconds. Simply place the sensor to the forehead of the baby and wait for the sound. The norm is in the range of 36,5-36,9°C.
