In the Layers palette (Layers) select the layer that needs to be fixed. Click on the lock icon just above the layers. To the right of the layer name appears on the black lock. If you want to fix the position of a layer, but continue to edit it – use the option "Lock position (Lock position). Select the layer and click on the crossed arrows to the left of the padlock icon. To the right of the layer name appears on a gray lock means that certain properties of the layer are locked. To move a layer now you can't, but can paint in any part of it.

If you finished editing the image, but the situation will need to change – use the "Fix" (Lock image pixels). Select the layer and click on the brush icon to the left of the crossed arrows. You can move the layer but not be able to draw.

To "Fix transparency (Lock transparent pixels): select the layer and click on the icon of a square to the left of the brush icon. This feature will allow you to move the layer to draw the image, but locks the transparent pixels. Such a need arises, for example, to preserve the transparency of the background.

To unpin a layer, click on layer and press the corresponding icon responsible for the lock.

If you need to remove the lock from the layer "Background" (Background): click the menu "Layer" - "New" - "Layer from Background" (Layer – New - Layer from Backgound). A window will appear "New layer (New Layer). Name the layer and click OK. Another way to unlock the "Background", double-click on the layer name – a window will appear rename a layer, select the name and click OK.
