Zelenin drops contain the following ingredients: tincture of belladonna, rhizomes of Valerian, Lily of the valley and menthol. Tincture of belladonna diminishes the secretion of bronchial, gastric, sweat, lacrimal, salivary glands and pancreas, as well as having m-anticholinergic and antispasmodic action. Tincture of Lily of the valley possess cardiotonic properties.
Tincture of Valerian root exhibits antispasmodic and sedative effect, facilitating the onset of natural sleep, slows the heart rate, promotes the expansion of coronary vessels, increases the secretion of the gastrointestinal mucosa, has cholagogue effect. Menthol is a local effect, it has analgesic, koronrodilatirtee, venotonic, anti-anginal and reflex action.
Zelenin drops prescribed for increased nervous excitability, vegetative-vascular dystonia, spasm of the gastrointestinal tract, gypenosides gastritis, biliary dyskinesia, chronic cholecystitis, hepatic and renal colic, loss of appetite. Also, the drug is used in complex treatment of chronic heart failure. Zelenin drops taken orally 20-30 drops 3-4 times a day.
The drug may cause the following side effects: diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, allergic reaction, heartburn, drowsiness, mydriasis, myasthenia gravis, headache, arrhythmia. "Drops of Zelenin" is contraindicated when sensitivity to its components, in zakratougolna glaucoma, myocarditis, endocarditis, hypertrophy of the prostate gland, accompanied by violation of the outflow of urine, hyperacidity gastritis, ulcers in the digestive tract, children under 12 years.
