Instruction

Log in to the task Manager. To do this, right-click the mouse on the My computer icon from the context menu, select task Manager, and click it with the left mouse button. A window will open where you will see the list of all the installed devices grouped by semantic categories.

If the model of card is not defined by the computer, it will be considered as an unidentified device, to have an icon in the form of a question mark of yellow color. Usually it is called Ethernet controller and is in the group of network devices.

Right-click the mouse on the icon of the network card. In the context menu click on Properties to bring up a new window with data about the device. It will list the driver information for the device, its manufacturer, used resources, and its physical connection to the computer systems. Here will be listed the model of network card, if the system were able to determine. Otherwise, continue with the following actions.

Click the Details tab at the top of the properties window of the device. Click on the drop down list at the top of the window, open it, and select that contains a device instance ID. At the bottom of the window there will be a set of letters, numbers, and special characters which denoted the specific network card.

Copy the code by pressing Ctrl and C, and save it. He will need to search for the driver for your network card installed model. You must enter the code in any search engine — the results are certainly an indication of the driver for the network card.

Download the driver and install it. After installation and restart, again go to properties of the network card in the task Manager. If the driver was installed correctly — there will be shown a model of the network card.
