Estimate the size of the body of animals: rats, on average, more mice in 2-4 times. In addition, in rats the torso is much more muscular and dense than in mice. Note also on the head of the rodent. Rats head is often larger than mice, besides it has a more elongated shape.

Compare the mass of animals. Rats weigh much more than mice. Compare for yourself: the average weight of the adult rat is 300-900 g, and mouse – 20-50 g. to know before you a rat or mouse, you don't even need scales, because differences in mass is very significant.

Notice the paws of rodents. Rats paws are bigger, they are more suited for fast running on horizontal surfaces. The paws of mice are smaller, they are often used by rodents for climbing on branches and vertical surfaces.

Because of this, it appears that rats have tiny beady eyes, while the mouse they are very large, expressive, dark and shiny.
