Within six months after the death of the testator, you need to contact a notary public to have an expert tell you your next steps. If you were not aware of the fact that the person who left you the apartment died, and missed the period for acceptance of inheritance, will need to prove your ignorance.

In case your stay in another city, think about giving power of attorney to conduct Affairs on the relative, friend or lawyer. It should be clearly lists the actions to be undertaken by man: the gathering of documents, information and further registration of the apartment in your name.

For your first visit to the notary is necessary to prepare the following paper:

If you can't find a technical passport for an apartment or he was too old to PIB (project and inventory Bureau), you must provide a document of ownership of the testator housing and one photocopy.
