1
Please note that the touchpad on the laptop is usually an independent device and requires installing the appropriate drivers and programs to work successfully. So before you enable the touchpad on a laptop, read the instructions to the computer, describing the peculiarities of working with him, and put in the drive the boot disk of the set.
2
Install the drivers from the boot disk or download them online, by searching for the model name of your laptop. You can install as a common package of drivers, and find individual, designed specifically for the touchpad. In this case, to enable the touchpad, you will need special software, usually included in the installation archive. Upon completion of the installation process in the system tray you should see a services icon. Click on it and open the service configuration. With the help of them you can disable or enable touchpad, and you can assign hotkeys for this.
3
Try to enable the touchpad on a laptop using a preset key combination on the keyboard. To do this, hold the Fn button (usually located at the bottom of the keyboard) and one of the function keys (F1 through F12). Note the buttons and find the one that shows the icon of the touchpad. Most often it is F6 or F7. Pressing this combination you will be able to disable the touchpad.
4
Follow a few additional steps if after installing the drivers, touchpad is still not working and does not respond to pressing special key combinations. Click "start" and open "control Panel". Select the menu item "Mouse" and check the current settings of the touchpad. Here you may find a button to activate it or deactivate for you to press. Also, in some models of laptops use a touchpad through the system BIOS menu, available by pressing Del key immediately after booting the computer. Here at the tab Internal Pointing Device you need to set "Enabled" to enable the touchpad. Save the settings and restart the computer.
