1
Why is a child's runny nose? The fact that infants are faced with a huge number of viruses. Getting on the mucous membrane of the nose, the viruses penetrate into the surface cells, have cilia and are there to develop one to three days. In the best case, thanks to the cilia, is a cleansing of the nose, and at worst - viruses violate the integrity of the nasal mucosa than create a favorable environment for bacterial infection which is the cause complications of the common cold.
2
Runny nose in infants proceeds differently than that of an adult. Infants cannot get rid of mucus. They have a runny nose leads to severe swelling of the mucous membrane, so breathe, it's virtually impossible. Even in newborns, the nasal cavity is much less in contrast to the adult. This is another reason for the rapid overlap of the nasal passages with a cold. If time does not begin treatment, it can lead to the development of various complications, such as sinusitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis or a dangerous pneumonia which can occur because of inhalation of contaminated bacteria of sputum.
3
If mucus from the nose transparent, light, and the child takes the breast and not breathing by the mouth, it can be hard not to worry but to help the child cope with the disease. To do this, often ventilate the room, do wet cleaning, to humidify the air in the room to wipe his nose, to suck the mucus out of necessity. At a low temperature frequently and slowly give water.
4
Usually on the second and third day the mucus becomes thicker, yellowish or greenish. If the baby is breathing normally, continue all the same, and if breathing is difficult, then there is an active growth of bacteria. In this case, you can use a saline solution (1 teaspoon per Cup of water) or saline drops. Salt has disinfectant and cleansing, thins mucus, allowing the child becomes easier to breathe. If the rhinitis does not pass and the mucus becomes more thick, viscous and green, then you need to consult a doctor.
5
To ensure that our children are not sick, it is best to promptly contact specialists and, of course, to take preventive measures. One important measure is the hardening of babies - it enhances immunity and resistance to adverse weather conditions.
