1
Choose a hockey stick in accordance with the age of the hockey player.
Manufactured putter can be divided into four categories:
Children 4-7 years - marking yth
Teenagers 7-14 years - marking jr
Boys 14-17 years - marking int
Players older than 17 years - marking sr
2
Decide what material needs to be your putter.
Hockey sticks can be wooden or made of composite materials. Wood sticks are much cheaper, but the faster they fail. In addition, the wooden stick weighs much more and contribute to the rapid fatigue of the hands. If you are planning to take hockey seriously, spend 3-7 thousand rubles, and buy a composite stick.
3
Is it solid, or a combination of a hockey stick?
One-piece hockey stick is just one-piece stick. In case of failure of such sticks, it is replaced fully. Hockey sticks made of wood always make a whole. Combined stick consists of two parts: tube and hook. Combined clubs more convenient to operate. If you break the hook, you can replace it only, not the entire stick. In addition, a player gets the opportunity to try to play with different types of hooks, replacing them. The only drawback of the combined clubs is lower gaming performance. But if you are just learning to play hockey and often break the stick, composite stick, ideal.
4
Determine what will be the length of your putter.
Length of putter is selected in accordance with the growth of hockey. Stick should get you to nose, if you stand on the floor without skates. If you choose the stick in the skates, it should rest against you in the chin. If the stick is slightly longer, it is possible to shorten, cut the extra inches. But note that shortening the stick, you increase its stiffness.
5
Determine the desired stiffness of the hockey stick.
The greatest influence on the stiffness of the putter has on the execution of the throw. The tougher the hockey stick, the more effort is required to throw. Almost all modern putters to denote hardness, we use the Easton scale - value from 40 to 120. Choose a stick with a value approximately equal to your weight. Sometimes there is a designation of hardness English terms:
whip - soft, 65-75 (on a scale of Easton),
regular - regular, 75-85,
stiff - rigid, 85-100,
x-stiff - very stiff, 100-110
xx-stiff - very stiff, 110-120.
The heavier and stronger the player, the stiffer the stick he uses.
6
Select the bend hockey stick.
There are sticks with left and right bend. View which hand you prefer to hold the stick. If you're right handed, you need to stick with the left bend and Vice versa. Next, choose the grip. Grab a long stick or a broom like a hockey stick. If your left hand lower than the right, then you have the left grip. If it is below the right hand – the right. Often kids cannot decide how they want to keep putter: left or right grip. In this case, get a stick with a straight hook. Later the child will figure out how to grip it, and while you can play both the left and right grip
7
Select hook hockey stick.
The shape of the hook depends on the preferences of the player. It consists of several elements:
Form of a sock;
The bend angle;
The depth of the bend;
Place of the bend;
The curvature of the plane.
All these features are important for experienced players and those who have already decided their roles. If you choose the stick for the beginner, especially for a child, feel free to choose a hook with a round toe, a small deep bend and angle equal to 5-6. If the hook is chosen correctly, the stick lies exactly on the ice, and the winding hook wears out evenly.
