Advice 1: How to make starch

Zawarty starch is used as adhesive for paper and cotton fabrics. They, sometimes, Wallpaper glue or used in the manufacture of various crafts, including, in papier-mache. Made from corn or potato starch paste is completely safe for children and can be easily washed, so it is often used in children's creativity.

Note
Water is always poured into the bowl with the starch and not starch is poured into it.
Useful advice
Should not be brewing starch "for the future", it is not stored for a long time. Cook it in small portions to have enough for once.

If during storage the paste became noticeably thicker, dilute it with small quantity of hot water and mix thoroughly.

Store paste in the refrigerator, overflowing it in a glass jar and close tightly with a lid.

Advice 2 : How to make glue from starch

Glue made from starch — paste — has long been used for bonding paper, cardboard, as Wallpaper paste. And although the shops have lots of different prepared adhesives, paste and are very popular today. To make glue from starch is quite simple, we only need to follow some simple rules.

Measure out the amount of starch. Pour water into it at room temperature. Stir the mass thoroughly breaking lumps. Starch is not soluble in water, you should get a homogeneous suspension of starch particles in the water — starch suspension.

Pour into prepared starch mass of the boiling water, continuously stirring in one direction, spinning the mass of the funnel, to avoid lumps.Follow the density of the mixture — the finished paste should have the consistency of thick jelly and to be transparent. Note that when the cooling mass of the paste thickens.

Can, conversely, to pour in the water stir starch in boiling water, rapidly stirring the mass. The starch should have a good brew. Better if the mass is on small fire. Mix the glue, to prevent it from burning to the bottom of the pan.

Sometimes to improve clayish properties in the finished paste add carpenter's glue. When gluing some types of thin paper Wallpaper this paste forms a spot, therefore, the paste for Wallpaper carpenter's glue is better not to add.

Glue from starch are perishable, therefore, to make it necessary immediately before use and stored no longer than three days. Fresh paste has a high adhesive qualities. To prevent decay of glue for wallpapering with addition of alum or carbolic acid.
