What is the pharmacological action has "Bifidumbacterin"



Bifidobacteria exhibit antagonistic activity against a number of opportunistic and pathogenic microorganisms, including Staphylococcus, Shigella, Escherichia coli, yeast-like fungi. The drug restores the balance of intestinal and vaginal microflora, stimulates the metabolic and digestive processes, has immunomodulatory effects.
Due to the "Bifidumbacterin" increased nonspecific resistance of the organism to infectious diseases.


Indications of "Bifidumbacterin"



"Bifidumbacterin" prescribed for the prevention and treatment of disbacteriosis of the gastrointestinal tract, acute intestinal infections, malabsorption syndrome, nutritional diseases, for the treatment of chronic constipation, or diarrhea while taking antibiotics. Also the drug is indicated for the correction of microflora before operations on the bowel, liver and pancreas, prevention of nosocomial infections.

"Bifidumbacterin" for local, rectal, or intravaginal use prescribed for bacterial vaginosis, nonspecific colpitis, chronic colitis, intestinal dysfunction, in the period of preparation for childbirth and routine gynecological surgery.

Contraindications to the use of "Bifidumbacterin"



During pregnancy and lactation the drug is used for indications. Capsules and tablets do not give to children under 3 years. "Bifidumbacterin" allergic reactions and hypersensitivity to the drug component it is contraindicated.
It is not recommended to take oral form of "Bifidumbacterin" at the same time with antibiotics, and dissolve it in hot water (above 40 degrees).


As to "Bifidumbacterin": manual



"Bifidumbacterin" is inside for 20-30 minutes before meals or during meals. In chronic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract is prescribed 25-50 doses 1-3 times a day, the course of treatment is 10 to 14 days. Pre-dissolved lyophilisate can be given to an infant immediately before feeding.

In intestinal diseases "Bifidumbacterin" applied rectally in suppository form. Usually prescribed 1-2 suppository 3 times per day, combining them with oral forms of the drug.

In gynecological practice suppositories used vaginally, 1 suppository 2 times a day for 5-10 days (e.g. 5-10 days prior to surgery or childbirth). After antibiotic therapy suppositories "Bifidumbacterin" apply 10 days 1-2 times per day (1 suppository).
