Open AutoCAD and select New ("New") in the File menu ("File") to create a new project file.

Type Units at the command line of the program to determine the values of the parameters Length ("Length"), Angle (Angle) and Insertion Scale.

Enter the command Dsettings to open the window Drawing Settings"drawing Settings") and include tools for sketching, such as diagrams, object snaps, and grid. Make the necessary changes to the drawing settings and click OK to close the Drawing Settings window.

Enter a drawing command. For example, type Line (Line) for line drawing, Circle ("Circle") to add a circle or Rectangle ("Rectangle") rectangle. Click in the drawing window to create a starting point for drawing commands. Click again to finish the object or type in “@ X, Y” or “@ D <” (oblique lines) at the command prompt, where “@” defines the size relative to the first point object, the “X” – the horizontal distance from the first point, “Y” vertical distance “D” is the distance of the object, “<” defines a slanted line and “A” is the slope of the line.

Select the objects and adjust their form manually, or enter a special command in the string e.g. Trim ("Crop"), Extend ("Extension"), Move (Move), Rotate (Rotate) and the Mirror (as a Mirror).

Dial Properties ("Properties") in the command line to open the Properties Inspector ("Inspector properties"). Use the Properties Inspector to define the layer, color, thickness and line style of objects. In addition, the property Inspector provides information about the drawing and the attributes of the object such as the radius, location and annotations.
