The startup folder



To get to the startup folder, you'll need to use the appropriate section of the file system of the computer. In Windows 7 click "start" - "Computer". Select "Local disk C:", where go to ProgramData – Microsoft – Windows – Start Menu – Programs – Startup.

If you switch to "Local disk C:" you don't see the ProgramData folder, you'll need to change the attributes of the showing of hidden files and directories. At the top of the window "Explorer" click on menu "tools" - "folder options" by clicking on the keyboard button Alt to call up the list of possible operations. You will see a configuration window will display files in the directories. Go to the tab "View" and scroll down to the section "Additional options". Navigating to the startup folder, you can publish your apps that you want to run at system startup. It is enough to copy this directory shortcuts to programs that should be running after a reboot. To apply the changes and check the correct placement of the files, restart the computer.

Msconfig



Msconfig is a standard Windows utility that allows you to manage system settings and change the startup sections. Go to menu "start" - "All programs" - "Accessories", then click "Run". Type msconfig and press Enter. In the window that appears click on the startup tab. You will see a list of applications that start up with your system during the computer is turned on. To disable one of the programs, uncheck the unwanted item, and then click "OK" to save the changes. Restart the computer to made actions entered into force.

In addition to Msconfig, you can use a program such as CCleaner or AnVir Task Manager, presenting advanced tools for control of loading together with the system software.

Editing the registry



To navigate in the registry editor, run regedit under "Run". Navigate to the branch HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE – SOFTWARE – Microsoft – Windows – CurrentVersion – Run using the list in the left part of the window. In the centre before you will be presented with a list of programs that start together with the system. Select the unwanted item and remove it if you don't want the program anymore run at startup. After applying the changes re-boot.
