The hosts file is located in the system directory of Windows, which can be carried out under administrator account of the computer. Click on the "start menu", then go to "Computer". In the list of installed media, select the system disk C. Navigate to the Windows folder – System32 – Drivers – etc for gaining access to hosts.

The document will be displayed in the appropriate folder. To open it click on it right mouse button and select "Open with". In the list of programs, select Notepad, and click "OK", after that you will open the contents of the document.

If the hosts file is not displayed in the directory, you'll need to display hidden files. Open the menu "Tools" - "folder Options" top panel "Explorer". If this menu is not available, press Alt to activate it. In the window that appears go to the tab "View" where in the section "Hidden files and folders" select "Show hidden documents". Click "OK". After the operation, if necessary, update the page by pressing the right mouse button in the folder window and choosing "Refresh". After that, the hosts file will be available.

Window Notepad will display the contents of this document. In the comments to the file that are after the pound signs, you will see an example of the changes in the document. Thus, to deny access to a specific resource, enter the text type:

127.0.0.1 adressat

In this case, 127.0.0.1 is the address of the local network. It is a pointer to what you need to deny access to a specific resource from that computer. The parameter "adressat" is responsible for the resource, access to which you want to disable (without http). For example, if you want to make the Google site is not available, enter the following query:

127.0.0.1 google.com

Every site that you want to block must be entered in the new line of the file. After specifying the required data, click "File" - "save" to save the changes made. You can close the editor window. Deny access to the website on the computer done.
