You will need
  • - a video capture device;
  • - program for video editing.

Connect the AV cable to the video capture cards to audio and video connectors on the TV. If the TV is connected to the console for digital TV, connect the cable to the audio and video connectors of the console. When connecting a cable, stick with matching colors (red plug to the red connector, white to white and yellow to yellow).

If the TV or set-top box has a S-Video port, connect the S-Video cable to this port. If the S-Video port is missing, record a video, it will be possible only by using an AV cable (albeit with some loss of quality).

Insert the end of USB device cable capture card into a free USB port on the computeri.e. you May have to wait a few minutes until the computer recognizes the device.

Open the video editing program that can capture video from the camera. For example, iMovie (for computers Mac), Windows Movie Maker or Adobe Premiere (for personal computers) support this option.

Go to the File menu ("File") and select Capture (Capture) or Capture Function ("capture") on the main screen of the program for video editing. If you have a choice of capturing, select Capture From Digital Video Camera – capture with a digital camera (so the system recognizes the video capture device).

Enter a name for the video file when prompted to do so in the editing program. Select a folder on your hard drive in order to save it a movie file.

Click the "Start Capture"to Start capture") or Start Import to Begin the import") in the video editor. Start the screening of the film that you want to record on the computer.

Click Stop Capture (Stop capture), when the movie is over. The video will be saved in the previously specified folder.
