You will need
- - screwdrivers;
- - the user manual for VAZ 2114;
- - cotton gloves.
Open the hood and remove the negative terminal from the battery, to disconnect the on-Board network. Remove the paddle switches and adapters. You should also remove all the decorative lining and the levers of the stove. Remove the instrument cluster trim panel. Open the Central cover of the steering wheel. Under it, locate the nut that secures the wheel to the shaft. Unscrew it and remove the steering wheel.
Lower down as much as possible the steering column. At the same time to detach it from the steering shaft gear is not necessary. On the left, locate the two screws that secure the instrument panel. They are at the top and bottom. Similarly, loosen the screws on the right side. Remove the "ears" that attach the steering column and the dashboard. Carefully remove and pull the cover back a little. Find all the pads of the wires that go to the ceiling of the glove box, the buttons on the panel and other electronics. Disconnect these pads.
Pull the instrument panel out of the cabin. The easiest way to do it through the right front door. Remove the air duct from the back side. Now locate the screws that hold the pickguard. Unscrew them. Bend the three tabs holding the cover. Now it can be removed along with the glove box housing.
Remove left and right instrument panel tie bar Assembly together with their brackets. Don't forget to remove the case top glove box. Unscrew the screws holding the lid hinges of the box, and remove it. Perform Assembly in reverse order. After Assembly be sure to check the operability of the instrument cluster.
Don't forget to wear cotton gloves to protect the hands from damage. Label all the pads. This will allow not to mix their places at reverse connection. In the process of dismantling the panels mark the location of each screw and screw. They can be of different length and width. Confusing screws, you risk to spoil the plastic socket.
