You will need
- - a letter of resignation;
- the extract solution of the certifying Commission;
- - the documents confirming a good reason for the dismissal;
- - allow the commander to the dismissal.

Russian legislation identifies a number of reasons why a soldier on contract may resign prior to the expiration of his service. These reasons make the further service in the army difficult and are grounds for dismissal.

Grounds for dismissal at own will can be:- residing parents or family of a soldier abroad;
- deteriorating health and the impossibility of incurring further service;
- the inability to support a family on the salary of a serviceman in the absence of other sources of income. The expectation of a living wage in the region and the cost of "market basket";
the pregnancy of a female soldier with the deterioration of her health status;
- the death of a close relative, after which the soldier can continue to perform their duties;
- if a soldier is forced to support and raise children without a spouse or to look after elderly parents who needed care.

If such valid reasons, the soldier takes command of a letter of resignation indicating the motivated reason. The commander directs a report for consideration by attestation Commission (it is created in the unit and it includes the chief of military unit or his Deputy, the commanders and representatives of the legal bodies).

Certification Commission examines the merits of the case within the stipulated time frame. They can be different. So, in the military part of the report is considered urgent, a maximum of 7 days after the filing of the report. In the offices of military districts, fleets, the main offices of the Ministry of defence of the Russian Federation allocated 15 days of receipt of the report.

Terms of consideration of the report on the dismissal may be extended if need more check. The maximum period is not more than 15 days. On the need for further consideration of the report the soldier is informed.

After a positive decision of the attestation Commission, the commander at its base gives final approval for dismissal.
Note
Often there are cases when, despite the decision of the attestation Commission, the commander refuses to fire the soldier. A negative response can give and review Board. In this case the soldier needs to go to court.
