Use code 0176 to insert the degree symbol in text documents. To do this, press the alt key and, while holding down, enter the code on the numeric (optional) the keyboard. While you dial, the screen will not change anything, and when you finish and release the alt key, the icon is displayed at the location marked by the caret.

Click "character map" Windows as an alternative to the above method of insertion of this symbol. It can be done, for example, by pressing the key combination win + r, typing charmap, and clicking on the Enter key. In the symbol table in the opened window locate the degree symbol, double-click it and click "Copy". Then switch to the window of the edited document and paste the symbol (ctrl + v).

Use the shortcut opt + shift + 8 if the operating system you are using, belongs to the family of Mac OS. It is this combination of hot keys assigned in it to insert in the documents of the degree symbol.

Insert the hexadecimal code 00B0 (B - letters), if you are working with documents in word processor Microsoft Office Word. This code correspond to the designation of a degree in Unicode table, and Word able to work with such designations characters. By setting the input cursor in the text where there should be a sign of the degree, enter the code and then press alt + x and word processor will be removed from the text of these four signs, instead, by placing one icon °.

Use the character entities of html, if the sign of the degree you want to put in a hypertext document. Below in the text of the web page display this sign, it is possible to place the sequence of characters ° or ° - they both form one and the same icon °.
Note
To print the ° symbol on the keyboard to hold down ALT and on the keypad dial 0176 and release the ALT after that. To print other symbols like © ®, etc. need to know the code keys. This is the key code, now turn on Num Lock and press ALT then on the keypad, dial 0163 and release ALT. You can of course always call the character map and copy the characters from there, but it's not interesting and not sports.

How to enter characters that are missing on the keyboard? Imagine a banal situation: you need to enter in some text a special character, but on the keyboard there are no keys with this character.
