Check the TV connector HDMI, DVI, or VGA. If you have the one that matches one of the interfaces of the graphics card of your computer, buy the patch cord of the appropriate standard and connect them to the TV to the computer instead of the monitor. If you have the TV connector one standard and the other can be replaced in the last video card (if desktop).

If the TV only has composite video, check the video card and subject to a connector RCA or S-Video. The second most often found on laptops. Same on desktop computers typically have neither the one nor the other - then you will also need to replace the graphics card.

With the video card with output connector RCA-type jacks, connect the TV directly, and with a map that can output S-Video through a special adapter. In the absence of such adapter give the brightness signal directly to the TV, and the synchronization signal - through ceramic capacitor with a capacitance of about 0.01 microfarad. Then you need to pick up more precisely to, on the one hand, the image is not blurred, and with another - are not violated synchronization (visually, this manifests itself as instability of the picture, especially at sharp change of brightness).

In the laptop video output will have to adjust. To do this, log in to the CMOS setup (for laptops this is usually not the key "Del" as in desktop machines, and the "F2" key), locate the item "Video out" and include the appropriate mode, and select the color system supported by your TV (PAL or NTSC). If both are supported, it is better to include the second, because then the frame rate will be higher and the flicker (CRT TV) is less noticeable.

It may happen that on the screen the image is displayed properly, but the TV can not see anything. First, check whether you chose the entry that you want. If you have tried all the inputs, and the picture is still there, you got a video card that starts to produce the video signal immediately, but only after the launch of a special program. Download it from the card manufacturer. Note that for Linux, such software is almost there.
