Start by finding the appropriate connectors in the video card of the computer and the TV. Video cards usually have two ports for video signal transmission. It's a digital (DVI or HDMI) and analog (VGA) connectors. Modern plasma and LCD televisions can be quite a lot of various channels.

Most often the following ports: VGA, SCART, HDMI, "Tulip" and the standard antenna input. Connecting the computer unit with TV can be done via two channels: VGA-VGA or HDMI-HDMI. There are also special cables that connect DVI and HDMI, since both of these connectors are designed for transmission of digital images.

As an example, let's consider the latter. Buy adapter DVI-HDMI or similar cable. Connect your computer's video card with a TV. Turn on both devices. In the settings of the TV, select this port (HDMI) main source signal.

Take the settings of your computer. Open control panel and navigate to "appearance and personalization". Select "adjust screen resolution". It should be in submenu "Display".

Further settings depend on the purpose of TV is connected. Select the function "extend this screen". When you activate this option, the working area of your screen will be expanded at the expense of TV. This will allow the simultaneous use of multiple active applications.

Select "Duplicate the screens". In this case, both displays will show identical picture. Of course, if you connect the TV without the monitor, then additional configuration is almost not required. Set the desired resolution to provide the best image quality.
