What is kosher salt
Like any other type of salt, kosher represents the form of sodium chloride. But, nevertheless from the usual dining room spices it is significantly different.

Kosher salt is used by Jews for cooking meat. The religious beliefs of this people not to eat animal blood. So the butchering of the carcasses takes place in a special way: the meat is thoroughly washed, soaked for at least an hour in water, then covered it kosher coarse salt and leave for an hour. This salt (and no other!) contributes to the complete extraction of blood from the meat. Only after this treatment it can be eaten, the Jews, and the meat is called kosher.
Distinguishing features of kosher salt
Because of their large size kosher salt will dissolve much longer. But this is a plus. Thanks to these characteristics, the crystals are clearly visible in the dish. Therefore, food will be almost impossible to oversalt, because you will visually be able to control the amount of salt.
