How to call Russia from abroad

The most common way to make calls with mobile from abroad in Russia is roaming. To activate roaming you need to contact the office of mobile phone company and provide a list of countries where you may need a connection (often the cost of minute of conversation in different countries is indexed differently). The major mobile operators provide relatively inexpensive roaming to popular destinations travel vacation: Turkey, Egypt, CIS countries and Thailand and India. Local numbers are convenient because they can connect to the Internet and use your smartphone as a Navigator and device for Network operation.

To call to Russia from abroad you can also use Skype, Viber, Line etc. you need to have with you any device which you can use to access the Internet (laptop, tablet, smartphone, a phone that supports Wi-Fi). With the free wireless Internet at the hotel or any cafe you can call friends or colleagues in one of the above programs (if their computers or other devices set to use the same program). With Skype you can also call regular phone numbers if you connect and pay the applicable fees. Skype, Viber and Line are free to install on Android and iOs, on any version of Windows including Windows for phones and tablets.
