The Swan Princess

The artist-storyteller

Images, familiar from childhood

The marine realm


A large influence of V. M. Vasnetsov had and on the work of another Russian artist, Ilya Repin (1844-1930), became the prototype of the hero of the picture "Sadko" . Ilya Repin depicted the moment of Novgorod epics, when the sea king Sadko the minstrel shows of his daughters.
