Unfortunately, a little sooner or later, this issue occurs with practically any upholstered furniture. In order to get rid of the squeak , you need to disassemble the sofa.

Pry each metal bracket that is attached to the upholstery of your sofa to the wooden frame, slotted screwdriver.

Remove the staples using the pliers and remove the padding.

Carefully read the "inside" of the couch. Take a marker and mark on the frame the location of the spring unit. Carefully remove the spring unit, foam and other fillers.

Take a picture or draw schematically the position of all the parts of the frame. This is necessary in order not to be mistaken with its subsequent Assembly.

Completely disassemble the frame, separating the elements from each other and removing all the nails and staples.

Assemble the parts of the frame. When assembling it is necessary to glue all the joints and then fix them with screws.

Lay the batting between the base of the sofa and a box spring unit. This will prevent the friction of the springs on the base.

Assemble the frame in the reverse sequence, in accordance with the previously made picture or diagram.

Place the spring unit in place, focusing on the made label. Secure the upholstery.

To eliminate squeaks in the furniture with a metal frame is necessary to lubricate its parts with machine oil or grease. Remove the mattress from the couch and carefully over all connections. Lay out and fold up the sofa a few times so that the liquid has penetrated into the movable elements of the structure. Gently wipe off any excess lubricant with a cloth or paper towels.
