To open the settings browserand go to "control Panel" and open click the icon "Internet options". There is another way: double click the IE shortcut on the Desktop, go to the tools menu and click "Internet options".

On the General tab under "Home page" type the address of the web site, which will open first when you launch the browser. This can be a search engine, your personal page, email or any other resource that you visit most often. If you want the browser to start up with a blank page, click on "Empty". Confirm your selection by pressing OK.

In the section "browsing History" contains information about the websites that you recently visited. When you revisit the same resource , the browser checks whether the changed contents. If not, to speed IE loads a page that is stored on your hard drive in the folder "Temporary files". Also on the hard drive contains cookies (cookies) – small text files-tags that a web site leaves on a visitor's computer to recognize it the next time you visit. Click on the "Remove" and check the boxes for the file types, from which you want to get rid of.

Click on "Settings" to set the duration of the temporary files, the folder designated for temporary files, etc. Click on the "Show files" to see the contents of the Temporary Internet Files folder.

Go to the tab "Security", to configure the settings for secure network operation. Select the icon "Trusted sites" or "Restricted sites", click "Host" and in the new window enter the address of the web pages that are believed to be reliable or, on the contrary, dangerous. Select the icon "Internet" and click "Other." In the parameters window, set the radio buttons in the position that suits you. Press OK to confirm.

In the Privacy tab you can block pop-UPS. Under "Settings" click "Advanced" to deny or allow the browserto accept cookies from certain sites. To prevent the browserfrom storing history of your visits to web sites, check the box "do Not collect data..." in the InPrivate.

In the Advanced tab you can specify security settings, noting the boxes for the corresponding items. In the section "Media" set the browser to work with media files. To cancel you changes, click "Reset".

Go to the tab "Content" and click "Enable" to restrict access to some Internet resources to others who use your computer. Usually these restrictions are imposed to protect children from content of web pages, which may have adverse effects. To create a list of prohibited web sites, you will have to enter the password in the General tab.
