How to convert to curves in Illustrator

Open in Adobe Illustrator the required image: press the menu item File -> Open or Ctrl+O. In the new window just click OK.

Take the Selection tool (V hotkey) and click on the picture to select it. Locate the panel Control, which is under the main menu. If not, click Window> Control. Locate this panel click the Live trace. Next to this button is another, in the form of looking down triangle, click on it and in popup menu select the bottom item – Tracing options. A new window will open.

Click on the Mode menu. Here you can specify the tracing mode. If you choose Black and White, the result will be black and white, Grayscale if black and if Color then color. In the point Threshold sets the threshold, after which some of the pixels become white and some in black. It is active mode only Black and White. In the graph Max colors sets the maximum number of colors in the final image, this option is active only for Grayscale and Color.

Find Blur. It can be used to smooth out minor imperfections and jagged edges. Setting Resample to speed up the tracing process for large images, but it is fraught with poor results.

Setting the necessary settings, click Trace, it is in the upper right corner of the window Tracing options. After some time the image is traced. Now click on the Expand button located on the Control panel. The image will be translated in curves Bezier.

To save the result, click the menu item File -> Save as or use the shortcut keys Ctrl+Shift+S. In the resulting window, enter a name for the file, specify the required format and finally click "Save".
