In order to copy operating system from one hard disk to another without the use of additional software, create a system image. Click "System and security" located in the control panel. Go to the menu "Backup and restore".

Go to "Create a system image", set as primary storage one partition of the second hard disk. Do not use for this purpose the section that will receive this operating system.

After completion of creating the image, select "Create a recovery drive". Hook up to the drive a blank DVD and click "Create disk". Turn off the computer.

Unplug the hard disk that already has an operating system. Turn on the computer and start the recorded disc. Select "Restore system image". Specify the newly created operating system image. Wait for the Windows recovery.

In that case, if this option is not available, use the Partition Manager. Download the version of this utility suitable for your operating system and install it.

Run the program. Click the "Wizard" and select "Copy partition". Select a system partition on the hard disk. Click "Next".

Specify the storage location of this section. In this case, it will be unpartitioned space, another hard drive. Click "Next". Specify the size of the future section. It should not be less than the size of the system partition. Click "Next".

Click "Finish" to complete the settings. Now click the "Change" and activate the checkbox "Apply changes". Wait for the copy of the system partition. If you use Windows Seven, be sure to copy the subsystem section, the volume of which is 100 MB.
