Undoubtedly the pride of Cherepovets is the October bridge on the Sheksna river, which was opened in 1979. It was the first cable-stayed bridge built on the territory of Russia. By design, it strongly resembles Severinski bridge over the river Rhine in Cologne.

Visit the local Chamber theatre – one of the oldest in the Vologda land. It is located in the historical part of Cherepovets and traces its history from the 60-ies of the 19th century. The repertoire of this theatre about two dozen performances of various genres.


Go to the Cathedral hill is one of the most beautiful pedestrian areas of Cherepovets. It is located on the site of the ancient settlement lies along the banks of the Sheksna. Here is a river station, Park and resurrection Cathedral, built in the late 18th century. After numerous reconstructions, it acquired the features of late Baroque. The Cathedral is considered the earliest monument of stone architecture of Cherepovets.

Slides opposite the Cathedral is another interesting local attraction – estate, Gali. It is a typical provincial noble estate of the 19th century. The majestic manor house on two floors with a Belvedere, is deservedly recognized as an architectural monument. Crossing the threshold, you are immediately transported into the atmosphere of life of Russian nobility. In addition to the manor house in the estate you can see many outbuildings.

It's worth visiting the house-Museum of the noble family Vereshagina. Whole family is best known were able to get the brothers Vasily and Nikolay. Vasily was a famous battle painter, so deep the military theme to it, and after him in the fine arts no one opened. One of his famous paintings called "the Apotheosis of war". Nikolai Vereshchagin is the founder of milk production in our country. It was he who invented the recipe for the legendary Vologda butter, which gained popularity outside of Russia.

In the archaeological Museum you can see the history of Cherepovets and learn some secrets of traditional Russian crafts. In addition, there can be photographed in medieval armour and even try on the "skin" of primitive man.

If the soul wants entertainment, then look in the "Emerald." This is one of the popular entertainment centers of the city. It features a restaurant, karaoke room, children's cafe and billiard room.
