To configure the display of hidden files and folders, you will need to get to the window "folder Options". This can be done in the following way. Click the "start" menu, click "control Panel".

If you have set up view by category, click the "appearance and personalization", there select "folder Options" or "folder options". If all the items in the "control Panel" are displayed in a grid, the item "folder Options" has to be among them.

Go to the View tab in the dialog box "folder Options". In the field "Additional options" you will see a list of settings, each of which can be set or remove the checkmark. Find the item "Hidden files and folders", it is usually placed at the end of the list.

You'll see a switch consisting of two points: "don't show hidden files, folders, and drives" and "Show hidden files, folders, and drives". Set the value next to "Show ...". Click OK.

To access the dialog box "folder Options" and other method. Open the "Explorer" window. At that time, while it is active, on the keyboard hit the Alt key. Two of them, and they are always located in the bottom row, right and left of the space bar. The exception may be the keyboard of some laptops.

There is another way to open a dialog box with the settings of the folders from Windows Explorer. On a regular window pane on the top left will be a menu "Sort". Select it. There in the middle of the list is the item "folder Options and search". Click on it will open a familiar window "folder Options".
