The first method is that you need to open the system window in control panel:
- Go to "start", choose the Run command.
- Enter in the line "Sysdm.cpl" and press "OK".
- Go to the tab "General". Information about the operating system (OS) will be displayed as follows:
Is a 32-bit version of the OS will be presented: версия_Windows Hrod will be displayed under "System".
-A 64-bit version of the OS are presented: версия_Windows XP_ х64_год will be displayed under "System".
The second method is to view the system information:
- Go to "start", choose the Run command.
- Enter in the line "winmsd.exe" and clicks "OK".
- Go to "System Information" select the tab "CPU".
The data about OS are displayed in the following way:
If the value of the processor starts with the prefix "X86", this record means that your computer has a 32-bit version of the OS.
If the value of the processor starts with the prefix "AMD64/IA64", this means that your computer is running a 64-bit version of the OS.
If using the above methods you cannot know the number of bits of your OS, then you should go to section "next steps".
To find out whether the version of Windows you can refer to the documentation that came with the computer, or learn it from a manufacturer of computer equipment.
Computers with the Intel Itanium processor, are controlled by a 64-bit version. To date, the 64-bit version work on the computer on which you installed the AMD64 and Itanium.
