First, be sure to consult your veterinarian. The fact that inflammatory processes in the eyes in cats can have various causes. Most often conjunctivitis is viral in nature and affects kittens or animals with weakened immune systems, but healthy adult cat may be ill. In addition to viruses, conjunctivitis is caused by an allergic reaction and chlamydia. In each case, treatment should be individually selected, so a primary diagnosis is necessary to consult a specialist.

Viral conjunctivitis is treated only in a veterinary clinic. The animal entered a special vaccine with antibiotics in combination with other drugs. After a course of such treatment the cat need to vaccinate against the virus so that the disease never returned. In the case of allergic reaction or infection simple doctor prescribes a treatment program, which can be done at home. Be sure to get detailed guidance on dose, frequency of medication and duration of treatment.

Instill eye drops 3-4 times a day, because they quickly dissolve and are washed from the eye with the secretory liquids. And if you have an ointment, put it in conjunctive bag 1 to 2 times a day. Sometimes for the integrated treatment requires the introduction of additional oral antibiotics. Do this as well only on the advice of a veterinarian.

Note
In no case do not self-medicate. If a cat has red, aching and watery eyes, the cause may be diseases dangerous to humans. Do not delay your visit to the vet and be sure to find out the etiology of the disease.
Useful advice
