1
The main signs to identify tree species is the width of the sapwood, the presence of the kernel, different degrees of visibility of the annual layers, the sharpness of the transition from the core to the sapwood, size and the presence of medullary rays, the presence of resin ducts, the number and the size and diameter of vessels of the wood. Additional characteristics include luster, color, odor, texture, shape, and number of knots.
2
Such speakeasy species of trees like fir, spruce, beech, and aspen, Central part of the trunk is markedly different from peripheral minimal moisture content, but by color is almost impossible to distinguish
3
The width of annual rings depend on its mechanical properties, not just appearance. The best wood among coniferous trees is considered to be one in which the layers is most narrow. Pine tree with reddish wood and narrow annual rings is called among the masters of employment and very much appreciated. Pine tree with wide rings is called Mandovi, but its strength is much lower than the previous.
4
If you look closely to the end section of deciduous trees, you will be able to distinguish between dark or bright spots, this so-called vessels of the tree. In ash, oak and elm, large vessels are located in three rows in the area of early wood, forming a dark ring in each annual layer. That is why these types of trees are called ring-vascular. They have a durable and heavy wood.
5
The aspen, birch and lime vessels are hardly visible, very shallow. These types of trees are called absently-vascular. The Apple, maple and birch wood solids. And aspen, Linden and alder – soft structure.
