Instruction
1
Use any program designed for packing files into an archive. This can be, for example, the most common programs are WinZIP, WinRAR, 7-ZIP etc. Each of these programs was created to work with files of the same format, but in order to be competitive in the modern market, they all have functions with the largest possible number of "nonnative" formats archiving. So it is enough to install into the computer one compressor to get the opportunity to work with most types of archives.
2
Open the standard file Manager of your operating system. In Windows it can be started using "hot keys" win + e or double click on the icon "My computer" on the desktop. Using the program's interface, navigate to the folder where you store files intended to be placed in the archive.
3
Select the files and/or folders, and then click the selected group, right-click to access the context menu. When installed in the computer, the archiver puts it in their team, among which are those that create an archive from selected files. As a rule, such teams are two - one carries out this operation with default settings and sets the archive file name, which consists of the name of the folder and the extension matches the format of the archive. The other team opens the program window that you had the opportunity to set the desired backup options. In the second case, you will have the opportunity to choose the archive format, compression level, specify file name, set password, add a comment, etc. After all this click "OK" to start the procedure of packing.
4
After the program finishes the backup of the selected objects in the folder appears a new file that will be available for modifications. For example, you can change the name by highlighting and pressing f2, or add to the archive new objects by dragging them with the mouse in this file.
