Click "Start". In the ensuing menu, select "All programs." From the list of programs, select Accessories, then Command prompt. At the prompt, type sfc.exe/ and press Enter. Starts scanning the system files. If the system detects the absence of the required files, if possible, they will be restored from a stand-alone operating system directory. After this procedure, close the command prompt and restart the computer. This command file recovery works on all operating systems.

If you are running Windows XP and it won't start at all and you have no access to the command line, you need to run it in safe mode. To do this, turn on the computer and continuously press F8. A menu will appear the options of starting the operating system. As a startup option, select Safe mode with command prompt". Wait until the operating system will not start in safe mode. Note that the Windows boot process in this mode can be quite long, the screen may become dark and at first glance it may seem that the computer froze. But it's not.

When the operating system boots to the desktop it says "Safe mode". Most of the basic functions in safe mode is not available.

Go to the command line, as described above, and enter "%systemroot%/system32/restore/strui.exe". Then press Enter. Will "restore Wizard" of the operating system. Then just follow all his cues.

If after entering the command nothing happens, so you need not copy the command and enter it manually. After the "restore Wizard" has completed, restart the computer and log in to the system in the normal mode. If all goes well, the operating system must be stable.
Useful advice
Insert the Windows XP installation CD in the drive and reboot, in BIOS set the first boot device the floppy drive, if you do not know how, read BIOS: Download. Next, boot setup Windows XP and after loading a menu appears, select the item№2. To repair Windows XP using recovery console, press R.
