How to sew a patchwork blanket

The main difference between the Russian art of the quilt from the American patchwork – using only scraps left over from sewing other items. With this technique, it is possible to save a large amount of fabric and sew much more products, for example – a patchwork blanket with colorful ornaments.

Instruction

Decide the size and dimensions of bedspreads patchwork squares. Draw a diagram of the covers on the paper, arranging the colors in the order you want. Note that for the bottom layer also need a fabric that you sew to the top. The optimal size of the sides of the patchwork square – 10-15 cm, but depending on the size of the covers you can increase or decrease the flaps at their discretion.

Take two details for each square (of fabric for top and for bottom). The planned size of the squares add 2 cm seam. Add up the parts on each other face inwards, sostrochite on the machine on three sides. Remove and sew on the fourth. Also, treat all squares.

Start to connect the squares seam "over the edge" or a simple machine stitch, pre-SMATV at a distance of 5 mm From the edges.
