Fresh root ginger is covered with a thin skin, it does not need to be cleaned, and quite a bit scratched, like young potatoes, but from an old root, you need to carefully remove the brown "skin". Cut the peeled ginger into thin slices. Boil water.

You can make ginger tea in several ways. For example, cover the slices with boiling water in teapot, cover and infuse for 15-20 minutes. Can put the ginger in a pot or bucket with boiling water and cook for 5-10 minutes, then leave to cool for 15 minutes. If you have a special container for individual infuser – tea strainer, you can put the pieces of root in it and put it in a Cup of hot water. In this case, use the whole root, but only 1/3. The Cup should be covered with a saucer or lid to the drink steep for 10-15 minutes.

Strain the drink, if you brewed it in the pan or ladle, pour from the kettle or just remove the strainer from the Cup. If you keep the ginger in the hot water longer than necessary time, the tea will taste bitter.

If you weren't root ginger, but only the powder of it, you can also brew ginger tea. This tea is best to drink immediately, it, in contrast to drinks from fresh ginger, not worth keeping long.
