It is believed that the sooner you decide to wean baby from the breast, the faster and less painful it will pass. However, experts advise not to stop breastfeeding to 1-1.5 years. Determine for yourself and baby comfortable terms, taking into account individual characteristics of the child: arrangement for feeding, level of immunity, the degree of "breast" dependencies, etc.
2
In the absence of an emergency it is better to wean baby from the breast gradually. Replace one breast-feeding (e.g., morning) introduction of complementary foods. Don't let breast "snack". If the child insists, distract, switch attention, at least, offer a little expressed milk from a bottle.
3
After 5-7 days, replace the second meal (lunch), etc. More walk on the street, play, deal with it (draw, sculpt, etc.). Try as much as possible to "restructure" the shape of the contact of the baby with the mother, gradually replacing the calming effect of the breast other types of tactile and emotional communication.
4
Regarding night feeding, it can be excluded either in advance (before the day), or after. Before bedtime the child needs nourishing food, better porridge. So as not to disturb the baby in the night smell of breast milk, ask dad, grandma or another "favorite" of an adult to pump a little, taking in his arms on stage, half-asleep groaning. You can offer a little water or infusion of dried fruit, if necessary.
5
If the mother to replace no one, is a bit trickier. The main thing is to remain calm, because the kid is better than any radar picks up and responds to slight fluctuations of her mother's mood. Wear the baby in her arms, having laid his head on his shoulder, away from the breast, monotone "marcite" in time with the rocking. If the child finally woke up and is cranky, switch his attention to the flashlight or unusual nightlight. If all else fails, don't despair – you just hold for one night. Next everything will be much easier. Even the big meanie "giving up" on a third, and peacefully snuffle until the morning.
