You will need
  • - computer with Windows XP system;
  • the group policy editor.
Instruction
1
Start group policy editor (start-Run-gpedit.msc). In the opened snap-in expand the node of "computer Configuration", expand "Administrative templates". In the node "Network," find the item "package Manager QoS".
2
In the right pane of the object open the property "Limit reservable bandwidth". By default, this setting is not configured. In this case, the system reserves 20% of connection bandwidth.
3
On the options tab, select "Enabled". Set the bandwidth limit to 0%. Click "Apply", then OK. When you set the registry limit the bandwidth for a specific network adapter by group policy when you configure the adapter is ignored.
4
Analyze the reasons for the overload of the Internet channel. Select the constant traffic which use a variety of multimedia applications to operate in real-time. Typically, this traffic has a minimum value. Restrict its use.
5
Contact your ISP and switch to a new tariff plan for using the channel with more capacity.
