The law on repatriation entered into force in 2000. It is in this act described the procedure of obtaining Polish citizenship by repatriates and persons who can obtain repatriation visa. According to this law, to obtain citizenship of Poland through repatriation can a person of Polish descent. For example, if you have a relationship until the second degree there are persons of Polish origin or citizens of Poland (mother, father, grandmother, grandfather), you can become a full citizen of Poland. In addition, when applying you will need to prove basic knowledge of the Polish language, as well as familiarity with the traditions and culture of Poland.

In order to get citizenship of Poland through repatriation, you must provide the Consulate with the documents. First of all, you will need to provide "Application for Polish citizenship, full Polish. To the application you apply passport, copy of passport, birth certificate and biography, in Polish, the documents confirming the absence of citizenship of Poland and your civil status and photo. In addition, the application should enclose any other documents that prove your Polish origin.

At the positive decision of your question, you first receive a repatriation visa, which is pasted in the passport. When crossing the border of Poland , you will automatically receive Polish citizenship on the basis of this visa. Please note that persons granted citizenship by way of repatriation, have the right to financial assistance, free access to Polish language courses and other social assistance.
