Connection of the local computer that is running Windows to a domain is done in the dialog "system Properties". There are several ways to open this dialog: bring up the main system menu by pressing the button "start" and open the context menu of the element "My computer/Computer" click right mouse button. Select "Properties";- go to "Run". Type sysdm.cpl in the Open box, and confirm the selected actions by clicking the OK button;- go to "control Panel". Expand the "Performance and maintenance" double click the mouse and select the "System".

Go to the tab "computer Name" dialog box and type the name of your domain in "Domain". Use the "Advanced" button to change the DNS suffix and save the made changes by pressing three times the button OK. Restart the system to apply the changes.

Use an alternative method of adding computer to the domain using the built-in utilities Netdom.exe. To do this, return to the main menu start and click All programs. Open the link to "Standard" and call the context menu item "Command prompt" by right-clicking the mouse. Select "Run as administrator" and напечатайтеnetdom join %ComputerName% /domain:domainname /userd:DOMAINadministrator /password:parolu text box with a command shell. Confirm the selected action by pressing the function key Enter.

Please note that by default Windows 7 utility Netdom.exe not available. To activate this built-in tool from the RSAT package, available for free download on the official website of Microsoft.
