The fault lamp and its replacement
In the car installed a halogen bulb with two filaments arranged in a single housing. One of them is responsible for the high beam and one for dipped beam. To ensure that the reason for the absence of light lies in the lamp, enough to swap it for a known good. To do this, under the hood, locate the cover for the headlight Assembly. Turn it clockwise to open. Then see the three-prong connector that must be removed. It now remains to remove the bulb by pushing aside the spring clips. Don't forget that the new lighting element cannot be taken in the glass - traces of fat will worsen the heat transfer, and the lamp will quickly fail. When replacing the lamp, pay attention to the pins in the connector - they must not be oxidized.
Irregularities in the fuse, wires and switch
Another equally common cause is a blown fuse. It is in the corresponding block located under the hood on the left side (in the direction of the car) closer to the windshield. Open the black cover and locate the fuse in ВАЗ2114 F12 (right headlight) and F13 (left headlight). Both fuse at 7.5 amps. To ensure their integrity, turn details to light: you have to see the whole thread. In their absence the fuse (s) need to be replaced. Poorly connected or oxidized wires can also cause the lack of light. To make sure that the wiring is OK, you can disconnect the pads and look at internal contacts: they must be green patina.
