The use of mustard



Mustard is allowed to put no more than once per day, whereas for a child the frequency of their use should not exceed once in every two days. Also do not use mustard longer than for four or five days. Before you put the mustard, they need to moisten with warm water with a temperature not exceeding 40 degrees – otherwise the shot will lose its medicinal properties. Then wet the plate must firmly to the affected area and cover it with a towel, and cover the patient.

If the patient is too sensitive skin under the yellow card, you can put a piece of porous paper.

Mustard is forbidden to put at body temperature over 37 degrees and keep on the skin for more than 15 minutes not to burn it. A few minutes later, after sticking the person begins to feel heat and then a burning sensation accompanied by redness of the skin, caused by a large blood flow. With strong burning yellow card must immediately remove and lubricate the skin with panthenol. After the procedure, the treated area should be wiped with a damp cloth, then dried and moistened with cream.

Application features



Pharmacy mustard are a piece of heavy paper with a thin layer of mustard flour. Mustard, store-bought, able to maintain their properties throughout the year, however, they need to properly store – wrap in paper and place in a cool, dry place. When using self-prepared mustard plasters for children must observe the following rules: mix flour with dry mustard in a ratio of 1:3 and put the mixture on a double gauze layer.

The standard time of the imposition of mustard plasters is not more than 15 minutes, but if restless behavior of the child it should be reduced.

After removal of the remnants of yellow mustard poultice must be removed by using a wet fleece and lubricate the treated skin usual baby cream. When lung problems in children and elderly patients are not allowed to put mustard near the heart area. Also not recommended the use of mustard during pregnancy as they may adversely affect the status of women and child development. If necessary, their application must first consult a gynecologist, leading pregnancy.
