Preparations for the sewer

There are several types of individual sanitation: it is possible to dig a conventional pit, and it is possible to install a modern septic tank with wastewater treatment systems. The first option is the easiest, but not very hygienic, pollutes the soil and groundwater. The pit needs to be dug away from the house, especially if the property has a well or borehole.

A septic tank is a sewage system in which water undergoes one or more purification stages, before it gets to the ground. And all solid waste must be regularly pumped out using vacuum trucks. For a wooden house in the country, you can dig up the cesspool, but if the house is designed for permanent residence, for example, is a rustic log cabin or country cottage, it is advisable to have a septic tank.

Choosing the type of sewer you need to calculate the amount of material needed for the device all three parts of sewage, that is, internal communications, external communications and the collection of a well, pit, septic tank. You'll need pipes, tees, bends diameter tubes, adapters, plugs, fasteners, plumbing sealant.
Do not skimp on quality materials for sewers, especially those that are installed directly in the house.

Installation of sewage system

The house is necessary to connect the pipes from the toilet and sinks (preferably under a slight slope so that the water passed through quickly) into a single tower, which you need to fix. Internal drains need to get out through the hole in the Foundation.

Dig a trench for the pipe and connect the outer and inner drains between them. In the cold regions of the outer pipe is insulated and buried deeper freezing of the earth. The angle of the horizontal pipe that goes to the collection, should be about three degrees.
Experts advise to install a collection of at least five metres away from the wooden house, but to hold the pipe at a distance of more than fifteen feet too undesirable, the highway is often clogged.

Dig the sump pit, the size of which depends on the amount of waste: in a large rural house, where a few people, sewage will be greater than in the summer house. The shape of the pits can be any round, square or rectangular. Reinforce the hole with a brick or a cinder block. You can make a pit of concrete rings, tires or the full casted. Take care of overlap, but don't forget to do the hatch to pump the waste away.

If you are installing a septic tank with their hands, you will need to dig two or three holes under the containers. The wells are connected by pipes. The first container is a sump, where all the waste. Solids thus deposited on the bottom and the water remains at the top, so pipe installed in the upper portion, so that the liquid received in the next well. In the second container the water either enters the soil or is cleaned and passes to the next part of the septic tank. Install the pipe between them with a slight slope.
