Press the Start button, which is located on the taskbar in the lower left corner of the screen. In the appeared menu select Control panel. If the operating system has a classic look, these steps will be slightly different: click on Start, then Settings, then Control panel.

A new window will pop – menu of the control panel. Click Regional and Language Options - its icon is depicted as a globe. In the window that appears contains three tabs: Regional options, Languages and Advanced. Select the last one.

Locate the drop-down list, Select a language to match the language version of the non-Unicode programs you want to use, select Russian language – Russian.

If you need to get these changes act not only for the user who comes to the operating system under the Administrator account, check the box next to Apply all settings to the current user account and to the default user profile. Finally click on Apply.

A new window will appear in which the system prompts you to restart the computer for the changes to take effect. The Cyrillic alphabet appears in the names of directories and files, as well as in various menus and dialogs of Russian programs.

Keep in mind that all of the above actions and changes, the user can perform only when he went into the operating system under the Administrator profile of the computer. In the case of home car, when, as a rule, access to all OS settings are all members of the family, it does not matter. But on work computer it could be problematic, as it is normally under the Administrator profile, available only to special employees such as system administrators.
